Nelson Food and Drink Festival will be launched in grand style at a Pre-Event Dinner hosted by the festival’s gold sponsor, Nelson and Colne College.
Its acclaimed Farringtons Restaurant and Bistro will host the dinner on the evening of Friday September 18th, the day before the festival takes place in Nelson town centre.
Renowned over many years for the outstanding quality of its food, Farringtons is Nelson and Colne College’s in-house restaurant, allowing its catering students to showcase their skills in a professional environment.
Beginning at 7-30pm, the Festival Pre-Event Dinner will see guests arriving to a drinks reception before dining on three exquisite courses prepared by the college’s talented staff and students. As an added bonus, celebrity chef Richard Fox will be on hand to pair each of the dishes with the ideal craft beer.
Known as “The Beer Chef”, Richard wrote “The Food and Beer Cook Book” and co-starred in the ITV series “Men Brewing Badly” alongside actor Neil Morrissey. He will be the special guest at the following day’s food festival, performing and compering a series of live cookery demonstrations in an outdoor “culinary theatre”.
Tickets for the festival’s Pre-Event Dinner at Farringtons Restaurant and Bistro are on sale now, priced at £25 per person or £200 for a table of 10. They can be booked by phoning 01282 440334 or by email to: farringtons@nelson.ac.uk
Nelson Food and Drink Festival takes place in the town centre from 10am to 4pm on Saturday September 19th.
