A Pendle Witch with a taste for the area’s finest fare is helping promote Nelson Food and Drink Festival.
Having traded in her trusty broomstick for a flying fork, the hungry hag is resting for a spell on Pendle Hill, overlooking the East Lancashire town in waiting for its eagerly anticipated food festival this Saturday, September 19th.
Ingredients like eye of toad and wing of bat just don’t cut it with this savvy sorceress. She can’t wait to drop in on the free festival’s Worldwide Food Market to sample tasty treats ranging from traditional Lancashire favourites to more exotic flavours from far off lands.
And she’ll be spellbound by live cookery demonstrations with celebrity chef Richard Fox taking place throughout the day, not to mention street entertainers, free face painting and henna art, dancers and so much more.
It’s all taking place from 10am to 4pm in Nelson town centre, with organisers promising to conjure up a culinary spectacle. Miss it and you’ll curse yourself!
If you haven’t spotted the hungry hag on Pendle Hill – famous haunt of wicked witches – keep looking… the fine morning mist might mean she has a cloaking device!
